Write First — Privacy Policy

Effective June 19, 2026

The short version: What you write and choose stays on your iPhone. Your journal entries, moods, Screen Time selections, settings, and usage stats are kept on your device and are never uploaded to us. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no ad tracking. The only thing that leaves your device is your subscription purchase — handled by Apple and RevenueCat solely to manage your Pro access, never for advertising or tracking.

What Write First stores, and where

Write First keeps the following on your device only. It is never uploaded, transmitted, or made accessible to us or anyone else:

The apps, categories, or websites you choose to pause.
Your settings (unlock duration, writing length, schedules, and similar preferences).
Your journal entries, moods, streaks, and stats.

Screen Time (Family Controls)

Write First uses Apple's Screen Time APIs (FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity) solely to let you block your own chosen apps on your own device. Write First receives Apple's opaque tokens for your selections and does not upload them anywhere. Write First does not monitor, supervise, or report on you or anyone else.

What we do not do

We do not upload your Screen Time selections, journal entries, moods, settings, or device-usage information to any server.
We do not sell or share your data.
We do not use your data for advertising.
We do not run analytics, ad, or cross-app tracking tools. (Apple and RevenueCat process your subscription purchase only, as described below.)

Subscriptions

Write First Pro is an optional subscription. Your payment is processed by Apple through the App Store — Write First never receives or stores your payment details. To unlock your Pro features and keep them working across reinstalls and devices, we use RevenueCat, a subscription-management service that processes your purchase history (which plan you bought and whether it is active) on our behalf. This is used only to manage your access to Pro. It is not linked to your identity and is never used for advertising or tracking.

Support

If you email us for support, we use your email address only to reply to you. We do not add you to any list or use it for marketing.

Children

Write First is rated 4+ and shows no ads. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Subscription purchases are handled by Apple under the account holder's Apple Account.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
