Do First — Privacy Policy

Effective August 10, 2026

The short version: Your tasks and choices stay on your iPhone. Your task list, daily completion, streaks, Screen Time selections, and settings are kept on your device and are never uploaded to us. There are no accounts and no ad tracking. From version 1.3.0 the app also records anonymous counts of which screens get used, so we can find where people get stuck — you can switch that off in Settings, and it never includes anything you write or photograph. The only other thing that leaves your device is your subscription purchase, handled by Apple and RevenueCat solely to manage your Pro access.

What Do First stores, and where

Do First keeps the following on your device only. It is never uploaded, transmitted, or made accessible to us or anyone else:

The apps, categories, or websites you choose to block.
Your tasks, daily checklist completion, streaks, and stats.
Your settings (unlock rule, deadline time, schedules, and similar preferences).

Screen Time (Family Controls)

Do First uses Apple's Screen Time APIs (FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity) solely to let you block your own chosen apps on your own device until you finish your tasks. Do First receives Apple's opaque tokens for your selections and does not upload them anywhere. Do First cannot see inside the apps you block, and does not monitor, supervise, or report on you or anyone else.

Anonymous usage data

From version 1.3.0, Do First records a small amount of anonymous usage data so we can work out which parts of the app people find useful and where they get stuck. This covers things like which screens are opened, when a task is checked off, and whether a subscription screen was shown or dismissed. It is counts and screen names only.

This data is not tied to an account and we make no attempt to identify you. We never collect your name, email address, or location, and we never send the contents of your tasks, notes, or photos — those stay on your device. It is processed on our behalf by PostHog, and is never used for advertising or sold to anyone.

You can switch it off at any time in the app under Settings → Privacy → "Share anonymous usage data". Turning it off stops collection immediately.

What we do not do

We do not upload your Screen Time selections, tasks, completion history, or settings to any server.
We do not sell or share your data.
We do not use your data for advertising.
We do not run ad or cross-app tracking tools, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. (The anonymous usage data described above, and your subscription purchase, are the only things that leave your device.)

Subscriptions

Do First Pro is an optional subscription. Your payment is processed by Apple through the App Store — Do First never receives or stores your payment details. To unlock your Pro features and keep them working across reinstalls and devices, we use RevenueCat, a subscription-management service that processes your purchase history (which plan you bought and whether it is active) on our behalf. This is used only to manage your access to Pro. It is not linked to your identity and is never used for advertising or tracking.

Support

If you email us for support, we use your email address only to reply to you. We do not add you to any list or use it for marketing.

Children

Do First is rated 4+ and shows no ads. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Subscription purchases are handled by Apple under the account holder's Apple Account.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
